Privacy policy

This privacy policy only applies to the collection of your personal information by us. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy online. We use the information we collect about you to help us understand more about how our site is used and to be able to send you communications about DrugScience that may interest you, either electronically or otherwise. Should you supply any personal information, none of it will be disclosed except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when the law requires it. We may pass your personal information to our employees, and/or web administrators to administer the web services provided to you by us now or in the future. DrugScience is an inclusive initiative. One of our central principles is that of non-rejection - our vision is of a society where everyone can participate to build healthy, enterprising, inclusive communities.

As such our websites should never exclude people, and to encourage a model of worldwide internet development that allows all users to enjoy web content regardless of the technology they use.

Whilst creating this website, we've incorporated recommendations and best practice from the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium's) Accessibility Initiative (WAI). By following guidelines set down by the W3C we are trying to make sure that all the information on our website is available to everybody: not just the text, but the information contained in the images and other media including Flash, video, and audio.

We are striving to meet Priority 2 (AA) of the WAI's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG

2.0).

Specific measures taken to ensure this include:

1. Images have adequate alternative text and long descriptions if considered necessary

2. The website has been constructed using HTML, XHTML and CSS to ensure that the site displays accurately regardless of browser

3. Text is clear and information architecture does not depend on the use of colour

4. A 'skip navigation' function has been incorporated - users can skip directly to the main content

sections.

We are committed to improvement. If you have a particular need that we do not currently cater for, please contact us by emailing website@drugscience.org.uk.
