Project Twenty21 - August Update

Project Twenty21: August Update

16th August 2022

We're doing some work behind the scenes to revamp the way our monthly T21 data update is laid out, so this month's data points will be a little delayed and released as soon as they are ready - please bear with us! In the meantime, we bring you this month's data nugget and news about live-streaming tickets for our UK Patient Conference.

You will also find that two clinics have joined Project Twenty21 this summer - Resilience Medicine (Dr Dani Gordon) and Solihull Health Check Clinic (Dr Elie Okirie). For more information and appointment costs for both of these clinics, check out our website.

Patient quote of the month

"I can sleep better now, I've managed to reduce my meds and no longer take gabapentin, quitiapine or the zo-morph. I [only] have one more opiate to remove - I can't wait. I feel loads better in myself. Cannabis is a great product which helps me live a better life. ”

- Angelique, Chronic Pain patient, aged 54

Medical cannabis is changing lives

At each follow-up appointment, we ask T21 patients to describe their condition-specific symptoms and other aspects of general health. Comparing these with reports (collected using the same questionnaires) at the start of treatment helps us to understand whether or not a patient’s health improves after they are first prescribed medical cannabis, and if so, by how much.

We also ask people to complete the Global Impression of Change Scale - this asks people to describe the change in activity limitations, symptoms, emotions and overall quality of life since starting treatment.
These results mirror those we have previously reported for improvements in anxiety symptoms (February, 2022 update), PTSD symptoms (January, 2022 update), mood (November, 2021 update) and anxiety/depression.

Together, this evidence indicates that people are experiencing substantial benefits from prescribed cannabis.
