Reading, engaging with, and sharing our publications, papers and commentary gives evidence-based science and policy the audience it needs and deserves.
It’s certainly been an eventful past month for Project Twenty21! Drug Science and its supporters celebrated its achievements to date at the House of Lords in mid-October, which included a moving speech from our patient advocate, Lucy Stafford, detailing her journey with medical cannabis.
As Medical Cannabis Awareness Week 2021 (MCAW) kicked off, we were saddened to receive news from Parliament that they were cancelling all events at the House of Lords due to increased COVID restrictions. We of course support Parliament's decision to protect the safety of its employees, but this did mean we were unable to go ahead with our planned event in collaboration with Medcan Support speaking with MPs about medical cannabis and paediatric epilepsy. We very much hope to reschedule this for the new year.

And in even better news, MCAW 2021 was absolutely fantastic - a huge congrats to the team at PLEA for their impressive run of webinars through the week! Our very own Dr Anne Schlag and Rayyan Zafar took part in 'Research Roundtable' discussing the latest research and highlighting the need for real-world evidence in evolving medical cannabis access. Watch the webinar back here and catch up with the other webinars via PLEA's YouTube channel.
Patient quote of the month
“I am very grateful for a legal script of clean cannabis. Being able to access a regular supply of oil has been a tremendous blessing, thank you. The lack of interaction with dodgy dealers and dubious street drugs has benefitted me enormously.
I am much safer in my life.” - Abheda, Chronic Pain patient
