Project Twenty21 - October Update

We're pleased to finally be able to announce that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults has now been added to the list of indications covered by the study. This means that we will be able to start collecting data on how medical cannabis affects adults diagnosed with ADHD and therefore add to the evidence pool. There is undoubtedly a need for more research in this area - as highlighted by a 2017 paper which provided preliminary evidence supporting the self-medication theory of cannabis use in ADHD. It showed a reduction of symptoms and no cognitive impairments following patients' cannabis use. So if you have diagnosed ADHD (or know someone who does) and you're interested in joining Project Twenty21, please contact a clinic on our Clinic Directory to find out if you're eligible.

And we're going international - our Clinical Director, Prof. Mike Barnes will be presenting to the Columbian Association of Cannabis Industries at their third Asocolcanna Forum at the start of November. This is really exciting for us, as Columbia is such a global leader in the cannabis industry. The objective of the forum is to establish a direct and constructive dialogue between the industry, government authorities, institutions such as scientific societies, academia, think tanks, medical groups, multilateral organisations, and all the members of the sector's ecosystem. Medical Cannabis Awareness Week 2021

With just three NHS prescriptions having been issued three years on from the law change allowing doctors to prescribe medical cannabis, Medical Cannabis Awareness Week (MCAW) 2021 aims to highlight the real need for real-world evidence in evolving medical cannabis access.
