We're pleased to announce updated modules across our MDMA and psilocybin educational modules, covering both pharmacology, history, and current law. These updates were developed in partnership with Norrsken Mind and Mind Medicine Australia, building on our shared goal of equipping the next generation of doctors with clear, evidence based information about psychedelic medicine.
Why these updates matter
Medical students are increasingly likely to encounter patients asking about MDMA and psilocybin as therapeutic tools, whether in the context of PTSD, depression, end of life anxiety, or a growing number of other indications under investigation. Yet formal medical education has struggled to keep pace with the research and use of these therapies in clinical settings. These free, downloadable slide sets exist to close that gap, giving future doctors, as well as anyone else with a curiosity, a solid grounding in both the science and the legal landscape surrounding these substances.
What's new
These modules were last made public in 2020, and a lot has happened since then. Rather than a light refresh, this update brings both subjects fully up to date with everything that has changed over the past several years.
Pharmacology
The Pharmacology modules now reflect the substantial body of clinical trial and naturalistic evidence that has emerged since 2020. This includes updated findings on efficacy and safety from Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials, real world data from naturalistic and observational studies, and a more complete picture of how these substances behave in clinical and non-clinical settings alike. The mechanisms of action, therapeutic outcomes, and risk profiles have all been revised to reflect the current state of the evidence, rather than where the science stood five years ago.
History and Law
The History and Law modules have been rewritten to account for the regulatory shifts of the past several years and the rollout of these therapies in Australia. For MDMA, this covers its journey through FDA review following the completion of Phase 3 trials. For psilocybin, the module reflects changes in scheduling and regulatory approach in various jurisdictions across the world, along with the continued expansion of clinical research despite persistent legal barriers. In both cases, the aim is to give students an accurate, current understanding of where the law stands today, not where it stood when the modules were first published.

This update was made possible through collaboration with Norrsken Mind and Mind Medicine Australia, both of whom share our commitment to establishing safe, effective, and evidence-based access to psychedelic-assisted treatments for mental illness. Bringing together expertise across research, clinical practice, and education has allowed us to make these modules more comprehensive and more current.
